Remote Management
The DDS-XM200 Network Management Console allows full remote access. Tape files can be transferred to/from the unit, and all aspects of its configuration modified. Using this functionality, the exchange no longer needs to be visited to perform operations such as tape changes, as these can now be done remotely, with the tape data retrieved onto standard network servers, and then erased from the DDS-XM200. This can drastically reduce the time taken to perform critical functions such as billing data retrieval, or restarting a failed exchange. As data can also be uploaded to the DDS-XM200 remotely, it can also be used as a failsafe recovery option during an exchange outage. A known-good software release can be uploaded onto the DDS-X200 from a remote terminal by an operator, requiring less on-site manual work, decreasing the chance of a mistake during a critical period.
This software is available on Linux, and all Windows releases from 2000 (2000, XP, Vista and Windows7). MacOS X versions can be made available on request.
